Hotel Furniture Cost Factors

Understand what changes a hotel furniture quotation

A room photograph is not enough to price a furniture package. Cost changes with the number and repetition of room types, dimensions, construction, visible materials, upholstery, hardware, sample and drawing work, quality checks, packing, destination and on-site responsibility. Use a cost review to make these drivers visible before reducing a proposal to one figure.

Scope and repetition set the quantity basis

Separate standard rooms, mirrored layouts, suites, accessible rooms and public areas. A high count of one unchanged item may support a different manufacturing plan from the same count spread across many dimensions and finishes. Fixed joinery, loose furniture, decorative accessories, equipment and local installation also carry different drawings and interfaces, even when they appear together in one rendering.

  • Counts: show pieces per room and the number of each room type, then list public-area quantities by zone.
  • Variants: identify every change in size, finish, upholstery, hardware or service opening.
  • Responsibilities: state who measures, supplies, connects, receives, installs and approves each item.

Construction and approvals affect more than appearance

Typical cost drivers to define before comparing quotations
DriverDecision to recordWhy the quotation may change
Material and constructionSubstrate, veneer or solid components, metal/stone/glass interfaces, upholstery and intended useMaterial yield, fabrication steps, finishing, handling and applicable evidence differ.
Dimensions and detailingApproved sizes, curves, joints, edge details, hardware and equipment cut-outsTooling, labour, hardware and assembly can change even when the overall look is similar.
Samples and mock-upFinish samples, prototypes, mock-up-room pieces, revisions and approval roundsDevelopment work and changes need a defined scope, charge and programme.
Quality and documentsInspection stages, acceptance points and exact product/destination requirementsChecks, tests and document applicability depend on the configuration and market.
Packing and sequenceProtection level, labels, room/floor/phase sorting, consolidation and loading planMaterials, labour, volume and handling differ with the handoff plan.
Delivery and site workDestination, trade term, receiving, storage, local movement, installation and connectionsFreight, insurance, duties/taxes and local labour are separate responsibilities unless quoted.

Use commercial references with their conditions

GEORGE Group currently uses no minimum piece count for this B2B project route, while the minimum total order value is USD 18,000. This allows a project to combine different furniture types, but it does not mean every small batch or custom item has the same unit cost or manufacturing route. Availability, price, payment, programme and exceptions are confirmed in the project quotation.

Commercial hospitality projects are generally discussed on a CIF basis, with the named port and exact responsibility stated in the quotation. Freight, insurance, import clearance, duties, inland movement, receiving and installation must still be allocated for the actual destination. Do not apply a home-project delivery term to a Contract project. Installation can be discussed but is separately charged, and the responsible region, site conditions and local roles must be agreed.

As planning references, GEORGE Group usually prepares a quotation within five business days once sufficient scope information is available, and quotations are usually valid for 30 days. The actual timing and validity shown on the issued quotation govern.

Send inputs that let cost move for a reason

Provide the current room-and-area schedule, quantities, drawings, finish references, destination, target programme and responsibility matrix. Ask for alternatives as separate options and request that every assumption be listed. Then a change in cost can be traced to a change in scope, specification or responsibility instead of appearing as an unexplained total.
